I have been negligent with my blog. Reason is I have been busy trying out new techniques in weaving. The one that caught my eye was inlay using bits of material. The weaving technique was featured in VAV magazine and the photo on the front of the magazine, well lets say I just had to make it.
And I did. It is a slow process but worth the effort.
The pillow cases use 1/2 inch strips of old cotton sheets, and thick 4/8 and thin 2/8 cotton warp. I used mop cotton for one pillow and I used mop cotton for the small rug with inlay as well. The rug was woven using a 2/2 twill. This technique comes from Halsingland Sweden and was used for weaving bed linens.
